A college education is a huge investment of time and money and many students don’t get it right the first time, often because they are following the pack—either their peers or the rankings. Where you go to college will have a big influence on your future and your career. It will also impact many of your future relationships and connections. While this decision is a vital part of career planning, it can feel overwhelming for many students and their parents who find themselves awash in a sea of brochures, guides and websites without clear direction.
This workshop is designed to engage students in a deliberate process of self-reflection designed to help them clearly identify and integrate important personal attributes and preferences that will enable them to determine which colleges and universities would be a good match for them. Students will be given tools designed to help them evaluate potential educational options. With this information, sorting through the mountain of college information becomes much more straightforward.
At the conclusion of the workshop, students and parents will have the opportunity to hear from a college admissions professional who will walk them through the details of the college admissions process.
This workshop is designed for high school students preparing for college. Parents are invited to the closing session with the admissions professional.
